So, a little while ago I mentioned that I recorded a song for a compilation of hymns for the ascension, and I am only just getting around to sharing that with you. I wrote a melody for some very, very old lyrics by Johannes Zwick. The compilation was put together by a guy named Bruce Benedict, who has formed a sort of artists collective called Cardiphonia, which is described as being “a collaboration of songwriters for the joy and benefit of the church.” It was a lot of fun to be a part of, and the project is pretty cool. You can find the album here, and for the first thirty days you have the option of leaving a donation that will go to Jobs for Life. Otherwise, the album is free.
Anyway, it was a great experience to write and record something so quickly (we did most of the work in one afternoon), and I hope to be able to take part in more projects like this.
