Dry Bones

I feel like I should wait to post this, since I’ve already posted once today, a post giving you yet further proof of the strange inner workings of my mind. However, in spite of that post, or perhaps because of, I’m going to share this song with you today. Partly just so you can hear it, but partly as proof that my mind doesn’t just produce irrational fears. 🙂

This was the offertory I wrote for this previous Sunday. It’s indicative of the level of talent my accompanying musicians possess when I say that they heard this song only twice before performing it in this recording. They are amazing, and playing with them is a joy, and makes me sound better than I could ever be on my own.

The song is based on a passage of scripture, Ezekial 37, which is a fascinating read and was the text for the sermon on Sunday. When I read it, I figured it was just begging to put to music, and that this group of musicians was just what it needed. Hope you enjoy it.

I am attempting to capture the events, non-events, and thoughts about each, as they occur in the increasing busy-ness of life. As my professors always said "You might want to write this down." Who knows what could turn out to be important?
